Antique Fountain & Balustrade

Aphrodite flanked by late summer's crape myrtle blooms.
The fountain topped by Aphrodite with the balustrade and pool was the inspiration for the entire Gardens.

A side view Aphrodite in the height of summer bloom of the crape myrtles.
The first signs of spring with the ''greening'' of the trees, yaupon allée and crape myrtles. Note the Farnése coat-of-arms on stone piers of balustrade.

With all blooms and leaves gone with the winds, Aphrodite's fountain and her surrounding balustrade appear stark white as do the branches of the crape myrtle standards.
The fountain seems to change colors along with the seasons. The orange chrysanthemums on either side, the bronze-gold of the leaves of the crape myrtles and the autumn sun highlight its autumn alabaster color.
