The Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse has exhibits and displays on the history of the lighthouse, along with information about the area's maritime history.
If you're interested in history, make sure you go inside the lighthouse, which has exhibits and displays on the history of the lighthouse, along with information about the area's maritime history. Then, walk back over the boardwalk to the mainland, and visit the George Washington Creef Boathouse. Both are part of the North Carolina Maritime Museum. The boathouse is named after a local builder who developed the shad boat, which was essential to fishermen working the waters of the Albemarle Sounds. The museum has several small watercraft on display, including a 1883 Creef Shad boat, spritsail skiffs, and a 1948 Davis Runabout. It also serves as a working boat shop, where volunteers and staff restore small boats and design new exhibits.

The waterfront area of this town is charming, picturesque and quaint because the town's residents, including town officials, have worked hard to keep it that way.
